Research + Design have completed the design of a two storey extension and refurbishment of Plymouths creative arts facility - Flameworks. Flameworks is the largest artist led workspace facility in Devon and Cornwall and houses nearly 24 artists including ceramicists, jewellers,metalworkers,painters and sculptors.The design will include new artists studios and workshop spaces based at the rear of building overlooking Stonehouse creek, and a single storey entrance and office extension in the front of the building. The project will feature hand crafted woven wire mesh, limecrete base, exposed steel and timber structures and siberian larch ventilation hatches as well as a range of cladding materials.

Research + Design have been appointed by Plymouth City Council in conjunction with the Friends of Devonport Park as lead consultants for a feasibility study and design of a bandstand for Plymouths historic Devonport Park (see photo below). The project will incorporate the participation of local students attending the Plymouth College of Art and include a public consultation event in the fall. The project will conclude in December 09 with designs and a final report from Research + Design and an exhibition of student work associated with the project. Costs for the project are being met by the Devonport Regeneration Community Partnership.

Planning permission has been recieved for a residential extension on the waterfront in Newton Ferrers, Devon. R+D are progressing the project through Building Regulations and work is scheduled to start on site fall 2009.

Planning permission has been recieved for a new yoga studio in Callington. Elevations to be posted shortly.

Seaview Holiday Village clubhouse extensions and refurbishments were completed on schedule this past April. Photos to be posted shortly.

A Residential Extension, that includes built in furniture designs incorporating American Ash and limestone was recently completed in Cornwall. Photos to be posted shortly.
